Crimson Moon Progression

Crimson Moon separates what you choose inside a mission from what permanently grows between runs. Here is the confirmed shape of both.

Official descriptions confirm two distinct layers: High Risk, High Reward Missions (“every successful run presents new missions, modifiers, and skill achievements”) and the Church as a home base for upgrades between runs. That is the run vs permanent split.

The main story objective runs through the Abraxas stones: collect the Abraxas stones, extract the Dead God's Spirits and destroy the Spire. That story layer sits beside side quests that help you gather resources and gear for later fights.

Inside a run (temporary)

  • Every successful run presents new missions, modifiers and skill achievements (official).
  • Dynamic difficulty scaling lets each mission match your skill — higher difficulty, greater rewards (official).
  • Angelic transformations are temporary power spikes (run layer).

Between runs (permanent)

  • The Church is your home base for upgrades, NPC interactions and War Table planning (official).
  • Skill achievements and gear are expected to persist — verify in-game.

The gear, boons and updates pages track which facts belong to which layer as mechanics change.

Specific permanent/unlock rules (what exactly carries between hunts) are Unverified until verified in-game — they will be stamped with game version when confirmed.
